In its official post, Bungie had this to say about the bug in Destiny 2:

This comes at the same time as Bungie’s change to Destiny 2’s ranked mode, and seems to bring these two different types of play into two very different - and some would argue appropriate - directions of seriousness. As better players are very quickly matched with others regardless of skill level, several players have been hailing Update 1.2.3 as one of the best patches in Destiny 2’s PvP lifespan. Those who care immensely about a competitive experience where skill matters are most likely already playing the Ranked playlist, and therefore aren’t being terribly affected.

On the other hand, there could be a silent crowd of people that aren’t being so positively affected. At the other end of every shutout is a team of unskilled players who were just bullied in a match they had no place being in. Some community members view the potential of this PvP change sticking around as a threat to the longevity of the game, and its accessibility to new players.

Players who have an opinion on which way Bungie should swing on this bug are encouraged to share their thoughts on Reddit and in the Bungie.net forums. It seems like this decision could drastically affect the future of Quick Play in Destiny 2 and beyond, so Destiny fans should chime in while they can.

Destiny 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
