While Bungie has yet to officially comment, another potential leak may give Destiny 2 fans the answer they’re looking for. Over on Twitter, Ginsor discovered two new text strings in the update 2.7.0.0 files with the phrase Trials of Osiris. While the potential discovery may be exciting, Ginsor stresses caution as icons and images were also discovered that don’t line up with things in the game such as a red engram and a very different looking Trials logo. It’s possible Bungie added older stuff accidentally, so fans should take this information with a grain of salt.

The popular Trials of Osiris mode hasn’t been seen since 2017, though it was revived for Destiny 2 as the short lived Trails of the Nine. After shelving it at the launch of the Forsaken expansion, Bungie has been mum on the subject, simply saying that the mode was staying on hiatus indefinitely.
Even still, there has been plenty of speculation this season about the mode making its return. Not only does Season of Dawn focus on characters like Osiris and the destination Mercury, but there have been a few events that have happened recently which may have tipped fans off on future plans. A glitch on the Director’s orbit screen showed a placeholder tile that featured the word beta and looked incredibly similar to a scorecard for Trials of Osiris.
In addition, there are more than a few fans who believe that the recently saved Saint-14 could be taking over as the announcer for a new Trials based mode. The basis for this belief comes from the fact that in the Corridors of Time missions, Saint-14 typically shouts inspirational messages at the player or lines that a player would expect to hear from Lord Shaxx during Crucible matches. So whether intentional or not, Bungie absolutely recorded Crucible lines using Saint-14’s voice.
Destiny 2: Season of Dawn is live for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
