Entitled The Art of Destiny 2, the book is set to launch on October 3, a few weeks after Destiny 2 ships out. The Art of Destiny 2 is the “definitive collection for the game’s stunning art and design,” the book’s official description states. Fans can feast their eyes upon Destiny 2 concept art, character sketches, immersive landscape paintings, and more, all while gaining insight into the game design process from the rough start to the final finish.
It appears Bungie and Activision are following in the footsteps of many other gaming franchises in releasing an exclusive art book for a highly buzzed-about title. Just recently, Nintendo and Dark Horse Books launched a massive, 424-page Legend of Zelda art book that spans the entire series’ history, and includes exclusive imagery and concept sketches from the newest installment, Breath of the Wild.
However, where Nintendo sought out a book debut date prior to Breath of the Wild’s official launch, Bungie and Activision have chosen one that comes after Destiny 2 releases. Perhaps fans will still be intrigued to learn more about the design behind the high-intensity FPS after they’ve poured a few hours into it.
Destiny 2 releases September 8 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Art of Destiny 2 art book releases on October 3.
