Bungie’s Community Manager Cozmo has been quick to answer as many Destiny 2 player questions as possible, and to help clear up any confusion. One thing that Cozmo helped confirm is that Trials of Osiris armor is not locked behind the Lighthouse chest.

As Destiny 2 players started going flawless in Trials of Osiris and reaching the new Lighthouse on Mercury, every one of them was rewarded with a pair of gloves. Some of those armor pieces were high stat rolls like Bungie promised for endgame activities, while others were quick infusion fodder. But regardless of if it was a player’s first or 20th flawless run, everyone was only getting gloves.
Most assumed that the Trials of Osiris armor was on a rotation similar to in Destiny 1, only instead of getting armor at 5 wins, players needed to go flawless and reach the Lighthouse. However, as confirmed by Cozmo, that is not the case: the 3 and 5 win drops can be armor.
Cozmo did confirm that the Trials of Osiris rewards are on a rotation, so players can expect to gain different rewards based on what week they compete, but no adept weapons. So, for example, if players are only after a helmet, they can wait until that armor piece is on the rotation.
On top of that, the Bungie community manager also confirmed that armor will not be locked behind the flawless Lighthouse chest. It’s unclear why nobody is receiving armor as regular drops during this initial time in Trials of Osiris but it is only the first week. Perhaps the rotation will put armor pieces into the loot pool next week so that players earn armor at 3 and 5 wins and a weapon will drop from the Lighthouse chest.
It’s obviously very early for Trials of Osiris and right now players are enjoying the return of the PvP mode and the challenge it brings. There have been some hiccups in the form of cheaters and DDOS attacks, but overall Crucible fans seem to be having fun testing their mettle on Burnout. However,
Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
