Crimson
Just as expected when it was teased in a trailer for Curse of Osiris, Crimson is basically a hand cannon version of Destiny 1’s Red Death exotic pulse rifle. It’s Cruel Remedy perk is what makes it like Red Death: “Kills with this weapon heal the wielder.” The perk also refills the magazine on precision kills, which was a perk that Red Death did not have.
It also lives in the lineage of Red Death because the hand cannon fires in a 3-round burst due to its Intrinsic Perk called Banned Weapon, making it the only hand cannon with such a fire mode. It is quite the unique and potentially very powerful exotic Kinetic weapon.
Prometheus Lens
Prometheus Lens is a Trace Rifle very much like Coldheart, except this is a Solar-based weapon. It’s unique perks are:
Prismatic Inferno: Fires a Solar trace beam and generates a damaging heat field that grows while the weapon continues to fire. Flame Refraction: Kills with this weapon return a fraction of the ammo used to the magazine, extending the beam’s duration.
Telesto
Originally released in Destiny Year 2, the exotic fusion rifle Telesto now makes its return in Destiny 2. It still has its perk called Unplanned Reprieve, which attaches fusion projectiles to an enemy and then detonates them. But it has picked up a new perk in Destiny 2 that rewards multikills.
Harbinger’s Pulse: Multikills with this weapon immediately reload your equipped Kinetic and Energy weapons from reserves.
The Colony
A new grenade launcher, The Colony’s grenade rounds release insectoid robots that seek out enemies and detonate in their proximity.
Insectoid Robot Grenades: This weapon’s grenades are insectoid robots that chase targets and explode close to them. Serve the Colony: Insectoid robot grenades quickly repopulate the magazine from reserves while the Colony is unequipped.
The Jade Rabbit
Another returning exotic from Destiny 1, The Jade Rabbit scout rifle comes to Destiny 2 virtually unchanged combining Zen Moment and its Intrinsic Perk:
The Fate of All Fools: Chain body shots to gain bonus damage on your next precision shot and return ammo to the magazine.
Aeon Safe, Aeon Soul, and Aeon Swift
These exotic gauntlets are essentially exactly the same, with a version for every class in the game. These gauntlets buff nearby allies when each class activates its class ability (Barricade, Dodge, or Rift). When players are in a fireteam wearing one of these Aeon exotics, they become Aeon Cult allies receiving a special buff.
Aeon Energy: Summoning a barricade grants the following to nearby Aeon Cult allies: Grenade energy to Warlocks, Barricade energy to Titans, Dodge energy to Hunters, Other allies receive a fraction of the shared energy.
Gemini Jester
These exotic Hunter boots could be extremely useful in PvP, disorienting enemies when Dodge is used.
Misdirection: Dodging disorients nearby enemies and temporarily removes their radars.
Graviton Forfeit
This exotic helmet is returning from Destiny 1, but it has a completely different exotic perk. In Destiny 1, this helmet granted Shadestep to the Nightstalker, which no longer exists as part of the Nightstalker perk tree in Destiny 2 due to the addition of the Dodge ability.
Vanishing Shadow: Increases the duration of any invisibility effects. Your melee recharges faster while you are invisible.
Helm of Saint-14
Another Destiny 1 helmet, the Titan’s Helm of Saint-14 returns with the same perk that buffs Ward of Dawn, plus an additional part of the perk that affects the Sentinel class.
Starless Night: Your Ward of Dawn blinds enemies that enter it. Guarding with Sentinel Shield temporarily blinds nearby enemies.
Khepri’s Horn
Khepri’s Horn is a Titan helmet that is clearly meant to be equipped by Sunbreaker Titans.
Solar Rampart: Solar damage kills recharge your Barricade, which unleashes a blast of Solar energy when summoned.
Mk. 44 Stand Asides
These Titan boots are being carried over from Destiny 1 but with a significant buff to its exotic perk.
Seriously, Watch Out: Grants an overshield when sprinting at full health with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped. Hits with these abilities recharge a portion of your melee energy.
Ophidian Aspect
Continuing the theme of returning Destiny 1 exotics, the Warlocks get a favorite added in Year 3, the Ophidian Aspect gauntlets.
Cobra Totemic: Weapons ready and reload very quickly. Melee range is extended.
Shinobu’s Vow
Once again, here’s another returning exotic from Destiny 1, with an identical perk from the original game.
New Tricks: Improves Skip Grenade, and you gain an additional Skip Grenade charge.
The Stag
The Stag was a Destiny 1 exotic that did not have much utility, and as a result was easily one of the Warlock’s least popular exotics. It has a similar theme but could prove useful with this new version buffing the Warlock’s Rift.
Dearly Departed: Grants Rift energy when you are critically wounded. On your death, creates a brief healing rift on your corpse.
Vesper of Radius
Lastly, a new exotic for the Warlock, the Vesper of Radius buffs the Warlock’s Rift ability.
Planetary Torrent: Rifts release an Arc shockwave when cast. Rift energy recharges faster when you are surrounded by enemies.
