As explained by Bungie in a new blog post today, Destiny 2’s Faction Rallies are a special event that are to begin with the Weekly Reset on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 2:00 AM PT / 5:00 AM ET, and they are set to run until the same times on October 3, 2017. The original three factions from Destiny 1 are going to return for the event, with Dead Orbit being represented by Arach Jalaal, Future War Cult being fronted by Lakshmi-2, and New Monarchy being headed by Executor Hideo.

According to Bungie, Destiny 2’s Faction Rallies will charge players with the task of “gather[ing] supplies for their faction and destroy[ing] enemy resources.” In order to do this, players will simply choose one of the three factions with which to align themselves, and then they will earn Faction Tokens by completing public events, Lost Sectors, Strikes, the Leviathan Raid, or by taking on other Guardians in the Crucible.

Once Destiny 2 players have earned a sufficient amount of Faction Tokens during the event, they can be turned in for rewards packages that include a wide variety of items specific to one’s chosen faction, including weapons, armor, and shaders. Those Guardians interested in what they can earn would do well keep reading, as each item has been shown in the gallery of images found below.

Future War Cult

New Monarchy

When it comes to each of the factions’ special weapons – that is, the Dead Orbit Scout Rifle, the Future War Cult Pulse Rifle, and the New Monarchy Sidearm – each will be offered as a reward to be sold to Guardians should they emerge victorious during the event. To be specific, those players who pledged to the winning faction will be able to purchase the guns for 1,000 glimmer, while anyone who did not pledge will be able to receive them at a much higher price of 50,000 glimmer.

Bearing all of this in mind, Destiny 2’s Faction Rallies should prove to be a fun way for fans to continue playing through all of their favorite activities that currently exist in the game, as the event will add an even more competitive edge to the game modes by creating in-rivalries among community members. So, with a player count of more than 1 million Guardians online and rising, it will be interesting to see which faction receives the most pledges of loyalty next week.

Destiny 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will launch on October 24, 2017 for PC.
