Popular Destiny 2 YouTuber CheeseForever is at it again with another newly found glitch that provides a damage boost to both darkness weapons, Malfeasance and the recently released Witherhoard. Inside of the Tribute Hall, Cheese highlights a way that players can buff the damage output of Malfeasance by using the Witherhoard. Since both weapons utilize blight damage, it seems Bungie may have possibly added a way the duo can work together.

Intentional or not, using a direct shot on an enemy with the Witherhoard grenade launcher will automatically make every Malfeasance shot on the blighted enemy, a critical one. Typically, the weapon fires five bullets into an enemy at which point all five then explode for bigger damage. With the Witherhoard Blight, every single shot, including the five shot explosion, becomes a critical hit which boosting the damage by 25% overall and even more if critical hits are made. Keep in mind that the Witherhoard shot need to be a direct hit as the damage buff does not happen from a Blight pool under the enemy.

While its a cool looking weapon, the Malfeasance is a weapon that fans have been asking Bungie to buff for a long time as well as give it a catalyst. It’s particular strong against Taken enemies, which makes it a great weapon for activities like Gambit or The Reckoning, but outside of that, its largely outclassed by other exotics and even some legendary weapons. The main reason is due to the weapon’s time to kill, which generally doesn’t happen prior to the burst explosion. At that point in PvP, the player is already likely dead from another weapon.

In the meantime, the Destiny 2 community continues to hold out hope that another D1 exotic weapon will be making its return at some point. Expectations around the incredibly popular rocket launcher Gjallarhorn are so high that many were tricked into believing it was finally coming back. A screenshot has been making the rounds online, showing the Gjallarhorn stats page from the Collections menu, though many have begun to notice some inconsistencies with the image like a lack of texture in the icon image, seasonal overlay, and more.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
