The latest discovery has found its way to the Destiny 2 subReddit where leaked audio files were posted on a Chinese video hosting website called Youku. While the video was soon taken down, the audio files were persevered and sound as though they’re from some sort of cinematic rendered clip. The assumption is that these audio files come from an upcoming event in the game.

The general belief is that these four audio clips are of the mysterious Exo Stranger, a character who lends aid to players during the events of the first Destiny. In the clips, the accented woman does provide a few clues to her identity as she’s clearly talking to Emperor Calus and even Osiris. However, the second clip may give fans their biggest clue as she confirms that her exile was her choice, but it had to happen as she didn’t want to put any risk on Ana.

What’s telling about that audio clip is the general belief that the Exo Stranger is actually Ana Bray’s sister Elsie. The Warmind expansion left plenty of clues as to this being true, including flavor text on certain items as well as the Lost Memory Fragments hidden around Mars. However, Bungie has yet to officially confirm or deny the strong ties though it appears that players could be getting answers soon.

For those wondering, if this unidentified character actually is the Exo Stranger, the character clearly isn’t voiced by Lauren Cohen anymore. On paper this change makes sense considering not too long after her appearance in the first Destiny, Cohen went on to star in The Walking Dead, a TV series with a massive following. It’s more than likely her new found fame since then has kept her pretty busy with projects.

If this is Elsie Bray, the timing couldn’t be better as Ana Bray and the Warmind Rasputin are currently at the forefront of the story so introducing another knowledgeable character when it comes to old Bray technologies and the coming storm does make sense. With the Almighty flying towards Earth in a last ditch effort to destroy The Last City, players are working to help Rasputin get its defenses up in time, though it seems Bungie has more than a few tricks up its sleeve before the season ends next month.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
