Players who are still online will receive a warning at the above time, informing them that maintenance will shortly commence. From that point, they will have an hour to vacate the Destiny 2 servers before being forcibly removed from the game. Right now, there is no word on what Bungie is looking to fix in the short session but it could simply be to make sure that the game’s first reset goes smoothly.
The downtime will arrive around the same time as the Destiny weekly reset which aims to refresh the title’s Nightfall, Flashpoint, Clan XP, Crucible Call to Arms, Weekly Challenges, and Eververse Bright Dust inventory. The original Destiny servers will also be down, although the majority of the playerbase has likely already moved on to the highly-anticipated sequel.
This short downtime might come as a disappointment to players who are still looking to grind their way to the recommended power level for the upcoming Leviathan raid. With the level required now being officially confirmed by Bungie, Destiny fans will have some work ahead of them in order to ensure that their guardians are sufficiently powerful in order to handle the challenge.
Those players who are still looking to make that final push past the soft power level cap can now do so a little easier as Bungie confirms the easiest way to surpass level 260. As we move into the second week of Destiny 2, guardians everywhere are reaching the endgame stage and preparing to move forward into the more challenging side of the new MMORPG-inspired shooter.
Destiny 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release following on October 24th.
