Of course, an arsenal of new tools of destruction will also help Guardians uncover the mysteries of Savathun’s Throne World and fight the Hive Lightbearers, with The Witch Queen introducing over 50 weapons and several Exotic guns. Furthermore, every class will be getting two Exotics: a Stasis one and a Light one. Destiny 2’s new Exotic weapons and armor pieces will have an impact on the game’s meta to a degree, but players seem to agree that one of the recently revealed ones will be particularly nasty in the Crucible.

During Bungie’s ViDoc: Light in the Darkness, a new Warlock Exotic was revealed along with exclusive footage, and while it was only referred to as “Devouring Rift,” that’s likely not going to be its final name. Still, the Exotic seemingly works with Void subclasses, and it makes Empowering Rift a much more reliable choice even in high-end content by allowing it to heal players standing in it, while also increasing the damage they deal. However, players are pointing out that this might break Destiny 2’s Crucible matches.
Empowering Rift is already a very powerful ability to have in PvP because it allows some weapons to one-tap enemy players with headshots, and others - like some hand cannons or Dead Man’s Tale - to score a kill in two shots. And yet, the newly revealed Destiny 2 Exotic for the Warlock can break the balance of Empowering Rift being limited to damage buffs by adding healing properties to it, effectively making Warlocks near invincible and killing machines at the same time.
With Destiny 2’s changes coming with Void 3.0 revealed, it’s only a matter of time before the missing Exotics are showcased, but both of the Warlock ones are very promising in PvE and PvP alike. It remains unclear, however, if all the new Exotic armor pieces will be exclusive to Lost Sector loot.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
