Bounty stacking is a practice that some players use to quickly get through the early levels of a new Destiny 2 Season Pass once it’s released. The game doesn’t automatically complete your bounties, which means players can finish their objectives and keep the bounties around for as long as they need, which means they can turn them in for XP after a new Season comes out.

As useful as bounty stacking may be, it is also limited by the fact that players can only have a total of up to 63 bounties and quests at the same time, which means that the potential XP gains were limited by this cap as well. Still, the release of 30th Anniversary content brought with it the Paraversal Haul, which are loot boxes that drop after completing a round of Dares of Eternity, and just so happen to grant XP upon being opened.

Since a player can have up to 999 Paraversal Hauls at the same time, this means that this could potentially be a great way to take bounty stacking to a whole new level. By using this practice, particularly hardcore players could quickly get a bunch of level-ups to progress through the Season Pass quickly, as well as bursting through Destiny 2’s Power Level grind since each Paraversal Haul drops an item, to boot.

Power Level upgrades are particularly important since Bungie seems to be doubling down on Witch Queen’s difficulty with a Legendary mode campaign. A word of advice for players that aim to stack up bounties and Paraversal Hauls: it is ill-advised to turn it all in for XP and loot as soon as possible. Instead, the smart play would be to finish the Season 16 intro quest (separate from the Witch Queen campaign) to get the seasonal Artifact, which will upgrade a Guardian’s Power Level even further, as well as unlocking new seasonal mods.

Though the majority of evergreen bounties (Vanguard, Crucible, destination, etc.) have always transferred from one season to another, and from one expansion to another, it’s a reasonably safe bet to assume that this will stay the same with the otherwise game-changing release of Witch Queen. The Paraversal Haul is technically a new type of item, however, so players may wish to keep a pinch of salt at hand just in case.

Destiny 2 is now available for free on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Stadia platforms, with the paid Witch Queen expansion set to launch on February 22nd.
