Here is the Escalation Protocol guide for the week of May 22, 2018:

Level 7 Boss: Damkath, The Mask

The final boss of Escalation Protocol this week is Damkath, The Mask. This giant ogre is very reminiscent of Golgoroth from Destiny 1’s King’s Fall raid; however, Damkath has nowhere near those kind of mechanics in order to defeat the giant beast. The weak point for Damkath is the giant mass of flesh located on the mammoth Ogre’s back.

When the boss wave begins, focus on clearing out the adds (including the Shriekers that spawn above the Incursion Site) while avoiding Damkath’s Void beam. After a Major Hive Wizard spawns in the back of the area behind Damakath, defeat it and then move in on Damkath to apply damage as has become custom to Escalation Protocol.

The most effective method players are using in Escalation Protocol is a combination of the Exotic Tractor Cannon and Void classes, especially Voidwalkers and Sentinels. Hitting Damkath with the Tractor Cannon will increase all Void damage done to him for five seconds. Have a player equipped with a Tractor Cannon who will keep hitting Damkath with the debuff. A Sentinel Titan should drop a Ward of Dawn bubble right in front of Damkath to spawn orbs and provide protection for the team should they choose to use shotguns. Nightstalkers can also tether with Shadowshot.

All the other players should focus on dealing damage with Void Power Weapons, Void Grenades (especially ones that zone and apply damage for a long time), and Nova Bombs. Damkath will go down fairly quickly.

Weekly Weapon Drop: IKELOS_SR_v1.0.1 Sniper Rifle

The weekly weapon that can drop from the final chest is the IKELOS_SR_v1.0.1 Sniper Rifle. It is a low-Impact, Rapid-Fire Frame sniper rifle with perks that include:

Seraph Rounds: Rounds overpenetrate targets and bounce off hard surfaces. Box Breathing: Aiming this weapon without firing for a brief moment grants bonus range and precision damage while it remains zoomed. Triple Tap: Rapidly landing precision hits will return 1 round to the magazine from reserves.

The drop rate can be pretty rare, so best of luck out there!

Destiny 2: Warmind is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
