Reckoning is a four-player PvE mode where motes from Gambit Prime can be used for more challenge. Part of the appeal of this mode is the reward of earning the new Gambit Prime armor centered around specific roles of Invader, Collector, Reaper, and Sentry. However, as players are now starting to discover, Bungie developers have also placed nine hidden items to collect during The Reckoning mode, which opens a new lore book called Dust. Upon collecting each piece of Lore, players will learn more about the former Cryptarch Lavinia Garcia Umr Tawil and her obsession with the Nine.
Here’s where players can find all nine golden eggs as well as what Reckoning tier is required in order to find each one.
The Kell - The first egg can be found right as players enter The Drifter’s ship after selecting the activity from the Destiny 2 director screen. Before running through the portal, players should drop down to the floor on the left to find the egg sitting on the floor next to the left side wall. The Red Box - The second egg can also be found before running through the portal, this time by heading on a catwalk on the right side wall. Follow it all the way to the end, turn to the right and the egg will be sitting against the wall. The Stacks - Form the initial spawn area, turn around and head through the open door on the right side of the ship. Follow the path until you reach an area with a bright light illuminating a shaft (before walking through a door into another area), jump down and face the pipe under the walkway to find the egg. The Bone - From the location of the third egg, jump back up to the walkway and run through the door right there all the way to the end where a small room can be entered. The egg is somewhere against the shelves where two red crates are. Simply move up to the first red crate to see a “Collect Loot” prompt appear. The Leviathan - For the fifth egg, head through the main portal into Tier 1 of Reckoning. Before jumping into the pit, look for the longest shard overlooking the giant hole (to the right of the mote depository) and carefully inch along to find the egg tucked in one of the cracks. The Gate - Egg number 6 can be found off to the right side of this area sticking out of the ground. It’s not too far from one of the markers on the outer egg of this zone. The Declaration - For the seventh egg, players need to head through the giant pit into the first wave of Reckoning Tier 1. After landing, head towards the giant structure on the left side of this map, which features a zipper-like look on it. Before the structure is a triangular platform with a red light on one of the corners. Under that corner is the egg. This egg can also be found on Tier 2, and better yet, players will spawn in right on the platform where the egg is. The Nine - The eight egg is the first of two that requires players to be in Tier 2 and have beaten the first encounter there. While moving towards the Bridge section, players can find this egg after running through the first door in the left side corner. The Witch - The final egg also requires Reckoning Tier 2 and finishing the bridge construction part of this mission. Enter the portal to the final room and begin running into the room to find a pillar off to the right side with a purple light around its base. Head over to it and run around the other side of it to find the egg.
While finding all nine eggs won’t be a tall order for most players, getting to Reckoning Tier 2 may not be possible for some. Reckoning is positioned as an end game activity and the second tier as a recommended power level of 670, a number which may require some time to achieve for many players. However, Bungie is making the power climb a little more accessible this season by offering Power Surge bounties for those who may have been away for a while as well as other standard ways to gain powerful rewards like Gambit Prime, Hawthorne’s newly reworked Clan bounties, and the normal weekly milestones.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
