One of the bigger changes for this season, however, is with Xur, as Bungie works to make him more relevant again. As players will find out starting today, the exotic merchant finally received that long-awaited update most players were looking for and will now be offering Forsaken exotics from time to time. Next week, Xur will have the first Invitations of the Nine mission for players to undertake, making his weekend visits even more important than they used to be.
Until then, though, here’s where players can find Xur as well as what he has brought to sell for the weekend of March 8, 2019.
Where is Xur?
With his first week of Forsaken exotics, Xur is making it easy for players to find him, as he’s hanging out in his usual spot in the Tower. Load into the default Tower location, not Drifter’s new Annex location, and head to the left to descend into the Hanger.
After entering that part of the Tower, head left again past Dead Orbit and run up the stairs to a catwalk at the back. Xur will be overlooking the mountains in the distance.
Class Armor
As previously mentioned, Xur is kicking this weekend off with a bang by bringing three Forsaken exotics items with him. Plus, he will be bringing one from the Curse of Osiris expansion.
Ophidian Aspect - Warlock gauntlet
Unfortunately for Warlocks, they’re the only class not getting a Forsaken exotic this week. Instead, players can pick up the Ophidian Aspect gauntlets, a subclass neutral item that enhances combat ability. Thanks to its perk, Cobra Totemic, weapons ready and load much faster than normal. In addition, it also extends the Warlock melee range.
Ultimately, these are solid exotics because they help improve the combat of the game. Having extended melee range is also beneficial for many Warlock subclasses, especially players who like using Devour. It’s a great pickup this week for those that don’t already have them.
Gear Rolls:
Mobility OR Resilience Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Reserves
Oathkeeper - Hunter gauntlets
Introduced alongside the Forsaken expansion, the Oathkeeper gauntlets are primarily for bow users. Adamantine Brace lets players hold bow charges indefinitely. Being able to hold the charge is great for those who want to ambush or take their time to line up a headshot against an enemy.
While the exotic perk isn’t very exciting, these gauntlets are a must for those who enjoy using bows. People have had a lot of success pairing these with Le Monarque, the bow that was introduced nside of the Black Armory update. They’re also a great pickup for those planning on grabbing Xur’s exotic weapon this week as well.

Mobility OR Resilience Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Reserves
Ursa Furiosa - Titan gauntlets
The third exotic this week is another one from Forsaken geared towards Sentinel Shield Titans. Its exotic perk, Ursine Guard, enables the player to move faster when guarding with Sentinel Shield. However, the best part of this perk is that blocked damage will convert into additional super energy once the super ends, similar to other class exotics like the Shards of Galanor for Hunters.
For Void Titans, this item is pretty much a must-own even after the minor nerf it received at the start of Season 5. At a basic level, being able to trigger supers more often provides a huge advantage in nearly every mode. When used in combination with super mods for armor, players will be tossing shields quite often.
Fixed Gear Rolls:
Resilience OR Recovery Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Reserves
Exotic Weapon
In addition to the Ursa Furiosa, Xur has brought another Forsaken exotic with the Trinity Ghoul. This electrically-charged bow fires an arrow that splits into three parts thanks to its perk, Split Electron. When the player aims down the sights and draws the bow all the way back, the arrow spread decreases. However, scoring a headshot will charge the next fired arrow to chain electricity between enemies close to each other.
It’s generally a fun bow to use in any mode, though it really shines in PvE modes where the chain attacks have more opportunity to happen. It’s a great tool for clearing adds, and should prove to be very valuable in the recently added Reckoning mode where players work to clear waves of Taken enemies to earn new Gambit armor. The more enemies bunch together, the more effective the chain lightning becomes.
