Whatever the case may be, fans found plenty of new loot to chase after including reworked legendary weapons like the Zaouli’s Bane hand cannon, Smite of Merain pulse rifle, and the Touch of Malice exotic scout rifle. Those who manage to beat the odds and get their hands on the reimagined Destiny exotic also may have discovered that the catalyst can be unlocked by finding a series of plates and dunking four orbs of light, a practice that celebrates a classic Destiny Easter egg.

Alongside the influx of new weapons, players can also visit the exotic weekend merchant Xur who arrives once more into Destiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of September 2, 2022.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can track Xur back inside of the European Dead Zone in his usual spot overlooking the Winding Cove.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Contraverse Hold - Warlock gauntlet

This week, warlocks can grab the Contraverse Hold gauntlets. Traditionally a very strong PvP exotic, these pair really well with a Voidwalker’s grenade abilities. Chaos Exchanger is the unique perk that provides damage resistance while charging a void grenade with Chaos Accelerant, Feed the Void, or Handheld Supernova. In addition, after using throwing it and landing a hit, a portion of grenade energy is returned.

These were previously adjusted inside of the Season of the Worthy seasonal update. While they still function the same as they did previously, players now have reduced damage protection while holding the supernova and how long it can be held for. This week, Warlocks get the highest stat roll, though at only a 63, it’s not quite as high as exotics fans have seen over the past couple of weeks.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +12 Resilience +12 Recovery +8 Discipline +12 Intellect +6 Strength +13

The Dragon’s Shadow - Hunter chest armor

Last seen in 2020, The Dragon’s Shadow chest armor is back on sale for Hunters. As a subclass neutral exotic, The Dragon’s Shadow is directly tied to the Hunter’s dodge mechanic, as its intrinsic perk, Wraithmetal Mail, reloads all weapons and increases movement and weapon handling for a brief time after performing a dodge.

Unfortunately, the roll could be better as it is technically the lowest of the three at only a 60. While it may not replace some of the better options out there, The Dragon’s Shadow has some value thanks to the fact that it basically gives players Marksman’s Dodge for free. This essentially lets the user equip the Gambler’s Dodge class ability and gain free weapon reloads and faster melee recharges at the same time.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +14 Resilience +18 Recovery +2 Discipline +12 Intellect +2 Strength +12

Lion’s Rampant - Titan leg armor

Titans who need a bit of mobility and stability when making tricky jumps will want these rocket boots. Similar to the St0mp-EEZ for Hunters, Lion Rampant’s come with the perk Jump Jets which provides added maneuverability in the air and enables accurate hipfire while players are in the air during Lift. Basically, these boosts will help make Lift Titans jump for twice as long.

Naturally, these boots are great for more platforming based activities typically involved in Dungeons or Raids. Outside of that, a player’s mileage will vary as they don’t offer a significant boost to combat boost like other Titan exotics. The roll is also okay as well, nothing too spectacular and as such, can be passed on this week.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mobility +7 Resilience +17 Recovery +9 Discipline +7 Intellect +12 Strength +10

Exotic Weapon

Back again after a few weeks is the booping shotgun called the Tractor Cannon. The unique perk of the Tractor Cannon is called Repulsor Force and as it sounds, it makes the gun emit a powerful blast that not only pushes enemies away, it also suppresses them and makes them vulnerable to incoming damage, especially void damage. Not only that, by damaging an enemy, the weapon gets a temporary increase to speed and handling.

While not commonly seen replacing many toip tier exotic weapon picks, players have continued to rave about this weapon, especially within PvP style modes like Gambit and the Crucible. With a larger than normal hit box, the ability to blast opponents off a stage, and also suppress them, it remains a popular choice and is worth grabbing.

Additional perks:

Extended Barrel Particle Repeater Composite Stock

Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.

Hawkmoon Rolls:

Arrowhead Brake Alloy Magazine Snapshot Sights Textured Grip
