This week, Bungie revealed how the Solstice of Heroes event will work for Year 2. Players will be able to earn Solstice armor and upgrade it to an Armor 2.0 version but this time around event engrams will not drop every time a player levels up. As seen in the tweet below from Bungie, Destiny 2 fans can get a look at the New Monarchy Winner’s Offering, which is a Legendary auto rifle named Loquitor IV. Although anyone can purchase it for 50,000 Glimmer, those who pledged loyalty to New Monarchy during the most recent Faction Rally will be able to obtain it at a much cheaper cost for a mere 1,000 Glimmer. Starting today, Destiny 2’s Victory Week runs until the weekly reset on January 30, 2018, with the ability to buy Loquitor IV or cash in Faction Tokens ending then as well....

After going hands on with Destiny 2: Forsaken at E3, Game Rant can provide details on the changes to the weapon slots. As shown off in last week’s Forsaken reveal stream, there are still just three weapon slots (some fans suggested in the past that Bungie should create a fourth weapon slot in Destiny 2) and they remain labeled the same: Kinetic, Energy, and Power. But starting with Forsaken, a number of weapon classes won’t necessarily pin them to a particular slot; instead, weapons will be identified as a Kinetic, Energy, or Power weapon....

The first Destiny 2: Shadowkeep weapon previewed, as concept art, was a fusion rifle called Dreambreaker, and Bungie community manager DeeJ said that it “perhaps lurks somewhere on the lunar surface, perhaps points beyond or below.” The second weapon revealed was a heavy machine gun called A Fine Memorial. Going off the weapons’ designs, and DeeJ’s comments, it is likely that these will be weapons that players will find in connection to the expansion’s main destination of the Moon....

Usually, with Trials of Osiris, players have 3 win, 5 win, 7 win, and Flawless card rewards, all with different rewards for Guardians to chase. This weekend, however, that is not the case. In one of the more hilarious moves by Bungie, Destiny 2’s rewards for Trials of Osiris this weekend, May 7-May 10, are all the same thing. Previously, Bungie had revealed that players would receive a special Triumph for participating in Crucible during the reign of the Lord of Wolves exotic shotgun. Destiny 2 players that compete in an Iron Banner match between now and July 30th will unlock a Triumph and the Wolves Unleashed emblem. However, chances are many players have already unlocked the emblem for participating in Iron Banner between June 18th and June 25th....

Right now, anyone who plays Destiny knows that going to any of the vendors in the Tower will present players with a selection of weapons that can be purchased with Legendary Marks. And, ever since Age of Triumph those weapons have been on a weekly reset where they re-roll their perks. In addition to the weapons in their inventories, players can also earn reputation with specific vendors to then open a package and receive a new random weapon....

This completes the three-piece blog series on the upcoming Destiny 2 Stasis subclasses. A lot has been shared but there’s still much to discover about features like customization. Bungie prefers to keep some things secret and let players find out on their own, so fans might not get much more Stasis subclass news until launch. Within the Destiny Tracker there is a faction reputation bar for The Warmind that is independent of anything currently going on with the bunkers in Season of the Worthy. It’s only a small detail but it’s enough to have the Destiny 2 fan base speculating about what Bungie has yet to reveal about the season. The matter of sunsetting and eventually reissuing old weaponry is a long and storied discussion in the various Destiny 2 communities. While some players don’t mind getting another shot at earning up-to-date versions of old favorites, others would much prefer if Bungie would focus purely on all-new gear, instead. According to Destiny 2 project lead Mark Noseworthy, the studio has no plans to bring the shooter to Nintendo’s console. When pressed further on the possibility of it down the road, things took a more pessimistic turn, with Noseworthy going as far as saying it’s pretty unrealistic at this point. The main reason seems to stem from the fact that Destiny 2 is once again an online-only experience, and the Switch is meant to be a portable style console, that’s still relatively new to the market....

One player who goes by the name Holden A. Grenade online has posted an extended run of Grasp of Avarice that took almost two full hours to complete due to the constraints. However, even with low-level gear, and a severe lack of the special abilities that come with Destiny 2’s exotic weapons and armor, the player still managed to conquer the impressive feat. On February 12, Twitter user 3jlowes posted with indication that their Tower Obelisk had finally reached 709,900 individual Resonance Power in Destiny 2’s Empyrean Foundation event. While technically a player could increase Resonance Power even further, at this level the Tower Obelisk generates enough Polarized Fractaline to completely fill all 71 of a fan’s available postmaster and inventory slots, making it the effective maximum. This carried on in Forsaken, of course, with a wonderful soundtrack blending perfectly with the narrative and the characters. A striking example is the cinematic with Cayde-6’s last stand against the Scorn in the Prison of Elders, moments before his Ghost is murdered by Pirrha, one of the Scorned Barons. That cinematic is the pinnacle of detail in Destiny 2, even including sounds like that of Ace of Spades reloading and gaining Memento Mori, or that of the Golden Gun Super as soon as Cayde uses it....

Among them, one of the most compelling villains was Uldren Sov, who got his redemption through death and rebirth as Crow, the beloved Hunter introduced in Season of the Hunt. Of course, another protagonist of Forsaken’s story in Destiny 2 was Cayde-6, even though he played a very small part in the narrative due to his premature death at the hands of the Awoken prince. Cayde left a huge void in the Tower and in the hearts of many Guardians, to the point that he is still remembered to this day....

That has led one player to run a test to see if the hidden Juggler mechanic is, in fact, real or just a skewed perspective on the part of players. The user, diaryofadragonborn, posted the data on the Destiny subreddit, and the findings look to somewhat confirm the theory. The full method of the test can be found here, but in summary, the player went into a Lost Sector in the EDZ and collected 500 kills using each type of weapon, logging any ammo that dropped and its type over the course of those kills....

Shayura’s Wrath was added to the Trials loot pool with Season of the Splicer, and players can get an Adept variant by completing a Flawless Passage. PvP in general has had a rough time over the last year, with Stasis Subclasses ruining the Crucible leading to rebalancing, and cheaters using hacks. As such, the new trailer for Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen presented at The Game Awards 2021 was a great way to build more hype and place expectations. The video shows footage from the very first mission that players will need to complete when The Witch Queen launches, during which Guardians will have to face a powerful Hive Knight with the powers of the Light - a Hive Guardian. There’s a lot to the new trailer, and many players didn’t miss the detail that they will get to return to Mars next year, although it’s unclear at this stage whether it’s going to be for a single mission or not....

Checking out the guides for Destiny 2’s newest raid could be a good choice for players looking for new strategies that can get their clan through each level of Deep Stone Crypt. However, players really owe it to themselves to dive into the activity blind for their initial run and working out their team’s synergy and learning the mechanics the way that Bungie had originally intended. Bungie’s community manager Cozmo confirmed on the Destiny subreddit that the two modes would not be returning in Destiny 2’s Season 5: Season of the Forge. While he did not give any further explanation as to why Faction Rally would not return this new season, Cozmo did specifically say the developer is still working on Trials to meet player expecations: Both Trials of the Nine and Faction Rally were a point of contention among players, with a generally negative feeling towards both activities....
