According to the Bungie Help Twitter account, the auto-complete was done as a result of player feedback, specifically due to the way that the quest was changing player behavior during the PvP event. Surprisingly, the task is nothing new for Destiny 2, but the way that this request of players weighted the need to complete it as the second step in the “Saladin’s Gauntlet” quest was causing issues for the event as a whole....
When Forsaken launched, Scout Rifles received a nerf that left Guardians scratching their heads, especially since they were a favorite amongst players. This became a bigger issue when Explosive Rounds also negatively impacted damage, though that was addressed in a recent hotfix. To make Scout Rifles worthy of a spot in Guardian arsenals, and to address plenty of player feedback, damage will be increased by 15%. This is a nice step in the right direction, but isn’t enough of a boost for some players....
Another staple of Destiny 2’s yearly expansions is that they bring massive changes to the Power Level’s cap and ways to achieve it, which is usually a big jump from what it was before. The cap for Beyond Light became much higher than before, with a difference of 200 Power Levels, and The Witch Queen is about to do the same. That name change stems from how the role of Masterwork Cores have changed since they were first introduced in Destiny 2. In what was basically a band-aid for the game during its first year until Bungie had time to revamp many of the game’s systems in Forsaken, Masterwork gear was added to the game to give players an additional pursuit. Dismantling Masterwork weapons and armor would grant Masterwork Cores that could then be used to Masterwork another weapon....
As per Bungie Help’s Twitter account, clans in Destiny 2 “can no longer gain XP and Hawthorne’s Weekly Challenge can no longer be completed.” This change will remain in effect for the duration of the Season of Arrivals, which is currently set to end November 10. Forsaken’s story revolves around hunting down Uldren Sov, Cayde-6’s killer, and bringing him to justice the old-fashioned way. But Uldren Sov is not the only target for guardians in the story, there are eight Barons that the guardian must hunt down before finally defeating Prince Uldren. According to Bungie, players will be able to hunt down the Barons in any order they choose, though some will be more difficult because of Power Level....
In Season of the Haunted, it may be a bit harder to do something similar to those old days, but players were quick to find another major glitch that can provide infinite Legendary Shards. There have been similar glitches before, where players were able to spend resources to get more Legendary Shards than intended, but Destiny 2 YouTuber and content creator Cheese Forever found a new one that will likely be patched later today....
Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen saw the Guardians of the Last City face off with Empress Caiatl and the remnants of the Cabal Empire which have arrived in Sol. Guardians must battle Caiatl’s “Chosen” who are seeking spots on her war council while the Empress wishes for the Last City to join the empire to battle common enemies in the pyramid-shaped Black Fleet and Hive forces which conquered the Cabal’s homeworld....
The Invitation of the Nine quest was originally introduced in Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter last spring, and saw players encountering the enigmatic Emissary of the Nine and seeing her past interactions with the Drifter, the shady host of the Gambit game mode. Guardians who have yet to complete the quest can still do so by buying the associated item from the exotic vendor Xur, who is present in Destiny 2 over weekends....
On Reddit, Destiny 2 players are discussing whether or not Trials of Orisis’ new Freelance Mode should be permanent, and one post on the topic has received a lot of responses. Freelance Mode allows players to queue solo, without the requirement to be part of a pre-made team. This has opened the doors for a lot more players to join and the PvP mode has seen a boost in popularity as a result....

The vaulting of Forsaken was something the community had mixed feelings about, and some players are still sad that this will remove most traces of Cayde-6 from the game, if not for a few memorials in the Tower and some voice lines on Nessus. Still, Destiny 2 saying goodbye to the Tangled Shore and the Forsaken campaign is something that players would like to see celebrated before the final departure, possibly with an in-game event or some special loot....
For each Faction Rally, Bungie hides a scannable item in one Lost Sector on each of the four Destinations. Many players didn’t know these scannable items were even there, but now that Faction Rally is back players know to look out for them. These scannable items are similar to the story-based items found throughout Destiny 2. Players will send out their Ghost to scan the item and a bit of dialogue will play....
In a recent detailed commentary about Destiny 2, franchise director Luke Smith addressed this complaint and explained why it can take time for changes to be made to the game. The answer, as explained by Smith, is that even though Destiny 2’s content drops are launched sequentially, they are being developed in parallel: Smith says, as an example, this is why something that players may have really enjoyed in Forsaken didn’t show up in Black Amory, or, vice versa, something players didn’t like in Black Armory continued into Season of the Drifter despite complaints to change or remove it....
For those who may not want to test their mettle, Bungie is also adding in a brand new exotic quest for season pass owners. The prize for clearing this quest is the exotic sidearm known as Devil’s Ruin, a weapon that may remind a few players of the plasma pistol from the Halo series. The main reason for this comparison is its perk called Closed the Gap which lets players fire normal shots or hold the trigger to fire a charged up laser blast....
Today also marks the first time since Trials of Osiris returned that the seasonal artifact power will be completely disabled to help level the playing field a bit. A major point of contention with the community once Bungie reveal its plans prior to Season 10, the developer quickly shifted gears and changed course. While many Destiny 2 players expected the merchant to start selling new gear when Forsaken launched, Bungie later confirmed that Xur won’t be selling anything from Year 2 for a while. However, even though his Year 1 merchandise has been seen before, it comes with randomized rolls, so it’s entirely possible what he has may be better than originally thought. For now, here’s a rundown on where to find Xur, as well as what he’s offering from September 28 until he departs before Destiny 2’s next weekly reset....
In Year 3 of Destiny 2, Bungie will be releasing four seasons over the course of a year that will play as limited-time events in “a single evolving world.” Throughout each season, there will be new challenges, new activities, new lore, new loots such as weapons and gear sets, and much more. And a portion of this new content will be earned through a new Battle Pass-like ranking system like the one found in Fortnite or Apex Legends....
The answer, according to game director Luke Smith in an interview with Kotaku, is that it depends. Given that both Bungie and Destiny 2 are going through a period of transition, Smith says that what comes after Year 3 is in flux, depending on fan reaction and how things go up to Shadowkeep’s launch. “Put something out, test it, learn from it,” is Bungie’s model and given how much is changing soon there’s apparently a lot to learn before dedicating to that next step....
This gag Gjallarhorn has been known about for a few days, as it was revealed through a database of Destiny 2 gear. This item, actually known as the Midnight Special, is a replica of the original Gjallarhorn and led to much speculation about Bungie bringing back the fan-favorite rocket launcher. Others believed it would be a gag, and as it turns out, that is exactly what it is — for now anyway....
