After assuring players it was investigating the issue, Destiny 2 developer Bungie announced that further changes were made to the Cipher Decoder drop rates. The studio says it will continue to gauge fan feedback over the weekend, and told players that the items were not intended to drop from strikes outside of Vanguard playlists, enemy kills, Gambit matches, or Forge completions. In this week’s Bungie post, the studio discussed rewards in Destiny 2 and how it plans to make the experience of completing activities better. First and foremost, Bungie plans to give a lot of the game’s activities (strikes, crucible, etc.) new armor and accessories to chase. Since the launch of Shadowkeep, the daily rituals have offered mostly the same rewards, with the new seasonal activities serving as the main source of collecting something new....
For those who might be a little confused, it works like this. If a player has two Hunters, and they complete all of their Milestones on one of those Hunters each Powerful Reward will be an improvement and of a higher power level. However, when that player switches to that second Hunter to complete Milestones, those Powerful Rewards will not be improvements. According to Bungie Community Manager Cozmo, who talked to the Destiny 2 dev team, this weekly lockout was put in place to avoid forcing players to make three of the same class to level quickly....
For those that may not have been following, Masterwork Legendary weapons in Destiny 2 are a completely random drop, with increased chances of obtaining one from harder activities like raids and Nightfall Strikes. For Exotic Masterworks, Bungie wanted to do something a little different since it is easy to obtain exotics. Rather than force players to hope for an Exotic Masterwork drop (or dismantle Masterworks for cores), players will have to find a Catalyst to turn their weapon into a Masterwork....
Some of these wanted enemies are fixed spawns in lost sectors and public events, while others are random spawns, albeit in a fixed location. Disgraced Bracus is one such enemy. Although this one spawns in the EDZ in the Winding Cove, there’s no fixed time for the spawn. Players can’t really do much but wait in the Winding Cove in the EDZ for this high-value target to spawn....
The information came from game director Luke Smith who was answering a fan question how the Vex play into the war with the Red Legion, to which Smith replied, they don’t: That could very well come up in the game’s first expansion, which based on the art associated with it, looks to involve the mysterious character known as Osiris. Fans who paid attention to the lore and narrative surrounding Osiris will know that he is a Guardian that became an expert on the Vex to find out more about them and how to defeat them....
These issues left Bungie in a conundrum on whether it should extend the Destiny 2’s Vow of the Disciple Contest Mode or not, which is an unprecedented move for raid releases and surrounding festivities. Locking an emote connected to a free Destiny 2 event was anything but a smart move for Bungie and it led to a lot of criticism online. But it appears the developer has not learned from that criticism, as a set of Faction Rally themed bundles are apparently on the way. Alongside this week’s Destiny 2 update, which added support for the new Crucible Labs test mode, Bungie released the backbone of its upcoming Faction Rally event....
The “suite” of Destiny 2-themed products from Razer will include a Razer DeathAdder Elite mouse (which Razer claims is the “most accurate mouse ever created"), a Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard, a Razer ManO’War Tournament Edition headset, and a Razer Goliathus Speed mouse mat. Bungie brand and marketing boss Jim McQuillian shared the company’s excitement about partnering with Razer for the suite of products. Many players are reporting these issues on the Destiny subreddit and, to Bungie’s credit, community managers are often acknowledging the bugs and replying that the bug being reported by players will be passed along to the development team to look into and fix. But there has not been a lot of communication as to when these issues may be fixed. Highlighted by the Bungie Help Twitter account, the maintenance that took place for the website and Destiny API earlier this week had a major impact on the Destiny 2 companion app. According to the tweet, the item transfer performance was massively increased. When using either the Companion App or another third-party application, transferring items should now be 10 times faster than it was previously. So far, there’s no way to tell what sort of fixes the new 1.0.3.5 patch is going to bring to the game, but there are a range of issues that Destiny 2 currently needs to fix in order to keep its player base happy. As ever, any players in the game when the maintenance is scheduled to arrive will be warned that servers will be heading offline beginning in one hour....
Previously, the Cayde’s Will quest had a handful of steps on the road to acquiring the Ace of Spades exotic hand cannon. Most of them were fairly standard for a Destiny 2 exotic quest but one step involving Gambit was serving as a roadblock to numerous players. The step in question involved getting 5 Invasion kills with a hand cannon, but though the wording suggested one thing the actual step required players kill an invader using a hand cannon....
The latest rework came with Season of the Lost, and Bungie soon started to experiment with it after the enormous success Trials of Osiris had on the launch weekend. After some tribulations, Trials of Osiris is in a good spot now, and many Destiny 2 players are happy about the changes made this weekend through another set of Trials Labs - experimentation made by Bungie to see what works and what doesn’t....
Granted cheating is not the only problem in Trials of Osiris, nor is cheating reserved just for the ultra competitive PvP mode. Crucible also deals with cheating on a much smaller scale, but it isn’t unheard of to have cheaters in regular PvP as well as Trials. Even outside of cheating, Destiny 2’s iteration of Trials of Osiris was often criticized for not being worth the effort required to go Flawless....

The most notable change took place inside of the Tower where the entire zone has been decked out in the Halloween spirit for the Festival of the Lost. Eva Levante is back and handing out candy to guardians that can be exchanged for masks, goodie bags, and a special auto rifle called the BrayTech Werewolf. The Haunted Forest also makes its grand return pushing fireteams of three to go as far as they can through it in only 15 minutes....
More importantly, this week also brought with it Update 2.6.0.1, arguably one of the biggest and most impactful updates the franchise has ever seen. Many game mechanics across the sandbox has been adjusted from weapons and super abilities, to adding the new gear mod and Armor 2.0 systems. New exotics and other gear has also been added, as well as new ways to upgrade them either through infusion or the overhauled masterworking system....
