In a recent blog post, Bungie said that millions of players of Guardians have gotten as far as the Farm social space in the game. This is impressive to say the least, and suggests that Destiny 2 may have enjoyed as big of a launch as the original game, if not bigger. Again, we’ll have to wait for exact sales figures to be sure, but it sounds like Destiny 2 is already a major hit....
The new super abilities coming with Forsaken are pretty powerful, some powerful enough to become the primary choice for their respective subclasses. The Ward of Dawn subclass tree in Destiny 2 is nothing compared to what it was in Destiny, and many fans are hoping that the buff will bring back some form of the Weapons of Light or Blessings of Light perks. These perks granted bonus damage or an overshield respectively....
Back when Destiny 2 launched, players who were members of a clan quickly noticed on the clan information page that there was something called seasons in Destiny 2, with Season 1 being active at the game’s launch. When the clan reward system went live, players understood a little more. By completing different activities in the game, each member contributes XP to their clan. As the clan levels up, all members unlock a new perk that typically makes the Destiny 2 experience more rewarding....
Anytime that Bungie writes about Destiny 2 on Twitter, the studio gets a ton of responses ranging from excitement about new content, frustration with broken quests, and questions about future features. But a question arose among Destiny 2 fans whether those additional five levels gained from those mods impact the power level of drops. The answer, according to Bungie, is no. Destiny 2 Rewards Designer Daniel Auchenpaugh says that mods do not factor into the level at which gear drops. The loot system is looking at a character’s base level before mods to determine the power level of a drop....
While the changes have generally been viewed as positive by the community, things have begun to start to turn a bit as the game now enters the midway point in the tenth season. Longtime fans have started to raise concerns about the longevity of Destiny 2 and if the current model is even sustainable at this rate. While Bungie isn’t quite ready to start talking Destiny 3 yet, things will need to change if the developer intends to retain its most hardcore of players....
Tormentors are a great addition to the game because they are essentially a new race of enemies, even though very little is currently known about them. The Shadow Legion could also behave differently from the base Cabal units that Destiny 2 players have come to know over time. And yet, even with Strand being revealed, one of the most important aspects of Lightfall is the reveal of the Cloud Striders – a new race that could change everything....
But The Revelry and its Tonics are long gone; however, another Destiny 2 player has also been able to defeat Riven using a different method. Streamer Baxlyy was the one who was able to best the mechanic-heavy and difficult last fight of Last Wish. The final blow to Riven came more than seven hours into his stream of attempts, and that comes after previous play sessions that all resulted in failure as well....

The six stats available for Guardians to play around with in Destiny 2 are resilience, mobility, recovery, intellect, discipline, and strength. Resilience, mobility, and recovery were introduced with Destiny 2 as part of the game’s redesign from the original game to give players control over their durability and class abilities, agility, and health regeneration, respectively. Intellect, discipline, and strength were reintroduced with Destiny 2: Shadowkeep as part of the expansion’s armor 2....
The loadout in question relies on a few key pinnacle weapons and an exotic or two to really shine. In the primary slot, Destiny 2 players will want to run either the Huckleberry SMG, or the new Outbreak Perfected pulse rifle - depending on the range of engagement. Both weapons crank out damage in their respective ranges. The secondary slot will be dedicated to the Loaded Question fusion rifle - last season’s pinnacle Vanguard weapon....
In addition to the wealth of new content and details for what’s coming over the next 6 months to Destiny 2, Bungie also had a few other announcements to share as well. The first was that Destiny 2 was now available on the Epic Games Store and those players who downloaded it there would get the 30th Anniversary Pack completely free. To celebrate, Destiny 2 is crossing over with Fortnite and Fall Guys, collaborating on unique cosmetics that will be available across all three titles....
With week 2 of The Dawning in full swing, players have been finding various ingredients in order to create cookies for many of the NPCs in the game. Not only is Xur included as part of this, but giving him Strange Cookies unlocks a new Dawning triumph and goes towards completing a unique quest related to the spacial sparrow that players can upgrade over the course of the event....
The Game Awards 2022 also gave Destiny 2 fans some new stuff to check out as well. The latest trailer for Lightfall showed off brand new gameplay featuring another great look at the upcoming Strand subclass and some of the more interesting movement and traversal mechanics it can provide. At one point, a Hunter used the grapple ability to latch on to a Titan as they activated Thundercrash, essentially getting a free ride to the other side of the map before letting go to attack enemies....
Even though the big Witch Queen expansion reveal is now in the rear view mirror, Bungie is still talking about its upcoming content as this current season leads up to it. Just recently, game director Joe Blackburn and general manager Justin Truman reiterated that the new Hive Guardians are meant to instill terror into players, similar to how their immortal guardians have done to enemies since the franchise began. With these deadily new enemy types, Bungie appears to be trying to turn the tables on player expectations....
In the latest weekly blog post, Bungie acknowledged the glitches that Destiny 2 players have found and reiterated the developers stance that it would never punish those who discover cheeses, loot caves, or other shortcuts. However, the studio did reveal that the July 30 update will finally close the boon of opulence loop hole that players have been able to exploit. While that generally means players have a limited time to take advantage of the situation, many players may want to reconsider....
Developer Bungie explained in its weekly blog that the driving reason for many of these nerfs is because of how good these weapons are in Destiny 2’s PvE content. Because many players have these exotics to use in harder PvE content, Bungie is designing and balancing experiences with that in mind. In turn, when players don’t have these items, it is making the actual activities that much harder. Sleeper Simulant Like Whisper of the Worm, for a time in Destiny 2, Sleeper Simulant was the best option in PvE and in Gambit, which resulted in nerfs for Sleeper Simulant....
Luke Smith’s message on Twitter reads that he and Project Lead Mark Noseworthy will be “answering some questions and addressing community feedback” next week. It’s unclear whether or not Luke means that this Q&A will take place during the announced Curse of Osiris livestream on November 28 or separately. It’s also surprising that Smith is making this announcement on Twitter, rather than through official PR channels. More than likely Smith doesn’t intend the Q&A to be a big deal, though Destiny 2’s community will likely see it as such....
In addition to the quick look at The Reef, the Destiny 2 Forsaken teaser included a disclaimer revealing that players will need to own Destiny 2’s base game and both DLCs in order to access Forsaken’s content. That means both Curse of Osiris and the recently released Warmind are requirements for playing Forsaken. For Destiny veterans, this disclaimer is not surprising given that Destiny 1’s first major expansion, The Taken King, also required ownership of The Dark Below and House of Wolves DLC....
