According to the Bungie community manager, dmg04, Destiny 2 players will have to do more than the usual grind to reach a Power Level of 400. They will need to “earn and equip Prestige Raid Lair weapons” or obtain the Solstice of Heroes armor set during the upcoming event. He also noted that players will not be able to infuse their prizes into existing gear. Those wanting to reach 400, who are willing to take up this challenge, will have to form a solid Fireteam and dive into one of the new Prestige Raid Lairs that were recently added as part of the 1....

The same principle had to be applied to Supers as well, which were and still are one of the most impactful assets in a Destiny 2 loadout, especially in high-end activities and PvP. As such, Bungie divided the various Supers available to each class and subclass into tiers that would determine how fast they would regenerate over time, also reducing the effectiveness of the Intellect stat in this process....

This week, Xur has left the tower and headed for Jupiter’s moon, Io. Players can find him in his typical spot located within Giant’s Scar in a small cave. After fast traveling to that zone, head through the metal structure and into the area with the massive drill. Follow the left perimeter until a small cave is reached with the mysterious salesman inside. As always, players can find his icon and general location from the Io minimap as well....

Destiny 2 featured a similar mechanic to this boost when Forsaken launched, as it allowed players to create a new character and immediately get them on-level for Forsaken’s content. This boost instead gives players the equipment necessary to jump into the more challenging content that Destiny 2: Shadowkeep has to offer. Perhaps the most perplexing part of the boost is that it can only be used once at least one character on the account is at least 900 power....

Bungie has now confirmed that the Heroic Strike Playlist will be making a return in Destiny 2. Entering the playlist will select a random strike from Destiny 2 or the Curse of Osiris DLC. It offers rewards of rare and legendary gear and players can also participate in Heroic Strikes in order to complete the ‘Weekly Heroic Strike’ milestone. The recommended Power level for the Heroic Strike Playlist is 270+, meaning that it’s more of a challenge than Destiny 2’s standard Nightfall Strikes but not quite as challenging as a Prestige Nightfall....

Earlier this year, Bungie announced that it would split from Activision and venture forth to make Destiny 2 on its own. The two companies had shared a partnership around the franchise before production began on the first game and Destiny saw a few big releases during that time. Shaders have always been a point of contention with Destiny 2 players. While some lament the loss of the old multi-use system in the original game, most agree that the current game needs a way to dismantle multiple sets of shaders in the same slot. Christopher Barrett responded to a fan’s request on Twitter, confirming that Bungie is planning to discuss this topic. The post will reveal why it’s taken developers so long to get to, why it’s not a simple solution, and also provide a timeframe for when players can expect to see a solution....

One Destiny 2 player recently shared their idea for how to improve the Armor Synthesis system. The post has picked up over 9,000 upvotes on Reddit’s biggest Destiny 2 community, showing widespread support for the change. The simple idea is stated in the Reddit post’s title, “There should 100% be transmog currency in the season pass.” In other words, the Destiny 2 players believe that players who spend money supporting Bungie through seasonal passes should receive some of the monetized transmog currency given to them....

As seen in Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost trailer below, the footage starts out by offering a glimpse of the forthcoming Haunted Forest mode, which will task Guardians with killing “ghouls and demons” while trying to get as far as they can into the Infinite Forest within a 15 minute time limit. What’s more is that there will be masks to earn and wear, an exclusive Horror Story Auto Rifle to acquire, and there will be twice as many Bright Engram drops until the event ends on November 6....

The Tangled Shore is where players will likely spend most of their time during the Forsaken campaign, for it is home to the Barons that players will track down before confronting Uldren Sov, as a very audible distressed Ikora Rey notes in the trailer. Bungie has confirmed that players will be able to pick off the Barons in any order, so players will likely be jumping around the Tangled Shore a lot....

Another renowned glitch in Destiny 2’s history allowed groups of twelve players to delve into Raids at the same time, annihilating bosses and melting through the content both for loot and for fun. Now, a new hilarious and extremely dangerous glitch has emerged in the game, and it concerns Stasis Titans and the newly reworked Diamond Lance Aspect, letting players spam the ability across all game modes. Vex Networks are in multiple locations in Destiny 2 and so far, Guardians have made their way through one location and defeated the boss protecting the Network. This week, Guardians venture to the Moon in an attempt to splice into the Vex Network, but some Guardians may need to know how to complete this Moon Override mission. Ever since then, Destiny 2 has been steadily growing and seeing bigger numbers in terms of how many active players it gets to retain over time. This may be partly due to how the game’s seasonal model changed Bungie’s approach to new content, which is now diluted over the span of a few weeks rather than all-out on day 1. As such, both story bits from the seasonal narrative and gameplay elements like new guns and Exotic quests, are handed out throughout the whole Season, which is a good way to keep players involved....

The Destiny 2 live action trailer reunites our Hunter, Warlock, and Titan trio to take on Ghaul, who looks particularly menacing in the flesh. As expected, Cayde-6 is around to help set the stage for the epic battle with the Red Legion, and to add a little comedic relief in the form of motivation. While most players will be battling the Cabal in a quest for loot and power, this trailer hopes players don’t forget about the puppies....

The Destiny 2 soundtrack features over two and a half hours of music across 44 tracks. The music was composed by Bungie and Destiny veterans Michael Salvatore, Skye Lewin, and C Paul Johnson along with Rotem Moav and Pieter Schlosser. The tracks were recorded at various locations including Skywalker Sound. The motions in the new emote will be very familiar to Destiny 2 players who have fought through the Leviathan raid and faced down the final boss, Emperor Calus. The inspiration for the emote comes from certain moments during this encounter, where Calus will clap his hands and send some of the fire team to his mindscape. The emote might also be recognized by those who have seen the clap featured in a series of memes and parodies online, with one particularly popular video set to “HandClap” by Fitz and The Tantrums....

Even when Bungie doesn’t put clues in front of the player, plenty go digging for them, like one Destiny 2 fan did this week. This individual spent 4 hours digging through audio files in Destiny 2 to see if he could uncover any clues regarding future content or storylines. Be warned, there may be spoilers from here on out. As expected, there are audio files regarding the Master Ives murder mystery that will conclude the Festival of the Lost event, but the more interesting discoveries involve the Dreaming City and its ongoing storyline....

As figured out by the community of players, the way to push past the level 260 ceiling, as confirmed by Bungie, is by doing activities that award Powerful Gear, which equates to Luminous Engrams. Those activities are the weekly reset activities: Nightfalls, Flashpoints, Call to Arms, Raids, Trials, and Clan rewards. Up to that point, Rare gear will drop up to level 260, and players can get that gear by doing almost any activity in the game from Public Events to the Crucible....

We say rollout because that is exactly what Bungie plans to do. They will add the Faction Rally weapons to the loot pool slowly, starting first as Winner’s Offerings for their respective Factions and then joining the loot pool in the next Faction Rally for Destiny 2. So, the Winner’s Offerings available during this week’s Faction Rally event are the first new items. Only one will be available for players depending on which Faction wins the event, but all three will join the Faction engram loot pool the next time Faction Rally comes around....
