It might seem premature to talk about improvements included with a fall 2018 update, but Bungie is in a tight spot. The Destiny 2 fan base is frustrated with the current state of the game and they want to know how Bungie plans to improve the experience. And to Bungie’s credit, the response is far-reaching. Among the more notable changes planned for the fall 2018 update are better clan rewards, masterworks exotics, Trials of the Nine improvements, tweaks to Guided games, the return of Crucible playlists like Rumble, and dismantling of shaders....

The collection system is a new way for Destiny 2 players to keep track of all the items they have amassed throughout their time playing the game. Bungie first mentioned the addition of this feature during their Forsaken reveal stream, but the This Week at Bungie blogpost gave a lot more insight into what fans can expect with this new feature. According to Bungie, the collections will feature any non-consumable item players had in their inventory since the launch of Warmind on May 8....

Destiny 2’s latest expansion aims to dramatically alter the landscape of the first-person looter shooter. In addition to the game’s narrative reaching a critical moment, big changes are coming to the Solar System. Much of the game’s base content, as well as DLC and previous expansion content, will be moved to what Bungie is calling the “Destiny Content Vault.” In their place, players will find new locations like the moon Europa, where Beyond Light’s story takes place....

The Telesto cheese required Destiny 2 players to shoot a sticky projectile over the finish line, and each projectile would count as a Guardian finishing the encounter, adding to the overall score. This was also a solid method for getting the Flawless Run triumph, but, with it being recently fixed by Bungie, there is another exploit that can also help those struggling with clearing the Gauntlet. For this method, Destiny 2 players will need to have a grenade launcher....

Destiny 2 is easily one of the biggest additions to the PlayStation Plus free games lineup. After all, it’s a triple A game that won’t even be a year old once it’s added to the service, and it still has a very active online community. However, Destiny 2 isn’t the only free PS Plus game that will make subscribers happy in September. The other free PS4 game coming to PlayStation Plus in September 2018 is God of War 3 Remastered....

For the last month, Bungie has been battling an exploit in its Fireteam Rejoin feature that has caused Trials of Osiris to be canceled until last weekend. Bungie has mentioned in the past that it does not ban people for using systems in the game in unintended ways. Namely, one of Bungie’s many artists seems to have recently posted a Destiny 2 finisher animation video on their ArtStation profile, which is neither strange nor uncommon. What is a big deal, however, is the fact that - for a split second - the artist’s in-game HUD shows a selection of green abilities and an entirely new Super icon, suggesting that this may well be the community’s first look at a new Destiny Darkness subclass....

While Beyond Light saw the vaulting of significant locations and pinnacle weapons, the coming of Witch Queen will send the Forsaken campaign alongside the Tangled Shore in the DCV (Destiny Content Vault). On January 18, Bungie released another edition of Destiny 2 on PC, called Legacy Collection. It is a 60$ bundle that contains The Forsaken Pack, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light. Buying one of each of these expansions will cost a bit more than buying the collection....

Each time Destiny 2 has a major expansion, a new raid drops with all-new weapons and armor for players to grab. Often, these loot drops are higher quality than most world drops due to the difficulty of the activity. The History of Toland the Shattered Even before Destiny 2, Toland’s story was first told in Destiny 1 during The Dark Below expansion. Toland was originally a Guardian who was obsessed with studying the Darkness and most specifically the Hive. So much so that he was called “mad” and he was exiled from the Guardians and The Last City by the Vanguard. He was sought out by Guardians Eris Morn and Eriana-3 to gain his knowledge about the Hive in an attempt to kill the Hive god Crota after Crota and his army slaughtered thousands of Guardians who tried to take back the Moon from the Hive....

The update to Xur will be coming to Destiny 2 on December 12 – less than a month away. Once the changes take effect, Guardians will be able to trade Legendary Shards each week for one of the new Fated Engrams. These new Engrams will decrypt into Exotics that aren’t already in a player’s collection. This will help Xur’s usefulness immensely, as his store lately has become rather stale....

Apparently the Destiny 2 development team has noticed a lot of players picking perks that improve their damage output or reduce their weapon downtime, which makes perks that impact stats related to reloading not feel like viable choices. These stats break down into three categories, according to the post: The actual Reload Stat, calculated from 0 to 100, affecting animation speed; Reload Duration Scale that applies “a small multiplier to the reload animation” even if Reload Stat is maxed; and Reload Empty Duration Scale that does the same if a weapon’s magazine is empty....

On December 7th, three days after the release of Black Armory, players will head to the Old City to take on a new endgame challenge. In the past, Bungie had said that Year 2 would continue the format of Raid Lairs that was started in Year 1, but the devs are calling this a “raid.” What that means in terms of the length and breadth of content available is unclear, but it could be that Bungie simply wants to stick to one clear naming convention for 6-player, endgame encounters....

While many bugs can be fixed relatively quickly, others are more complicated and sometimes require the cancellation of certain game modes until a patch can be implemented. The current bug surrounding Trials of Osiris is a prime example of a difficult bug that led to Trials of Osiris being canceled. Luckily for Guardians, Bungie did not make plans to cancel any PVE content due to the 12-man Raid bug. From using 12 Guardians to exceed the weight limit of a Fallen Skiff to doubling the number of Fireteam members in a Raid, Guardians found many ways to utilize this fun exploit....

Destiny subreddit moderator and a community member who took part in the recent Destiny 2 Community Summit at Bungie, FuzzleHC, posted the video showing the Easter egg: For those who may not recognize the in-joke there, it is a reference to the infamous line of dialogue, “That Wizard came from the moon,” which was spoken by the Ghost character - originally voiced by Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage - all the way back in the Destiny 1 Beta....

For those that are curious, the emote in question is the Bureaucratic Walk, a play on the Monty Python skit “Ministry of Silly Walks.” When activated, the emote sees the player put his or her left foot way forward before shuffling their right foot and repeating the process. The Bureaucratic Walk also happens to be on sale at Eververse for 800 Bright Dust. It’s a goofy emote to be sure, but it also has a unique property of letting players glitch through walls....

An example is last week’s Xur inventory, which included a weapon capable of changing perks continuously, whereas another example comes from the bugged physics of the Duality Dungeon. There was even an exploit to get infinite Legendary Shards by dismantling blue items in Season of the Haunted, and even though it was patched by Bungie, it still compromised Destiny 2’s internal economy when players started abusing it. As part of Activision’s E3 2018 presence, Bungie brought a demo of Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Gambit mode and we were able to go hands-on at the event. And like most of the participants at the Destiny Community Summit, it was hard to walk away from Gambit. The mode has a lot of moving parts but the basics are fairly simple. Two teams of four enter a PvE arena where enemies will constantly spawn....

The new fix makes it so that players have to requeue a Destiny 2 forge any time that one is completed. It doesn’t matter if the Forge activity is a failure or a success, there is at least one button press required to start a new Forge run.
