In an effort to make Destiny 2 feel more rewarding to players, Bungie added in exclusive loot to Nightfall strikes, something that was also done through a key and treasure system in the first game. Unlike that previous system, these Nightfall exclusive drops are purely based on the game’s RNG system, though a higher overall score at the end does increase the potential drop rate of each item. Where is Xur? As hinted at by the weekly reset Flashpoint location, players can find Xur on Nessus within Watcher’s Grave in his usual spot on the large tree. Fast travel to this zone and then follow the path north towards the next zone called The Tangle. Before reaching the end of the zone, players will find a massive tree to the right side of the path. Xur can be found standing on one of the massive tree branches....

Momentum Control is also on the way out at reset next week which may make some players happy after it’s lengthy stay as the unique Crucible playlist. However, Momentum Control remains the best and fastest way to complete the Randy’s Throwing Knife quest as well as knocking out the Jade Rabbit catalyst. Bungie has confirmed that Momentum Control will return, but with limited weeks left in the current season, players may not get another chance until season 9 begins....

Change is also coming to the sandbox, following the first round of adjustments made a few weeks ago at launch. This time around, Bungie is planning on making big adjustments to both the Dawnblade and Striker supers, two of which have been causing all sorts of chaos inside of the Crucible. Exotic items aren’t safe either as Bungie announced another nerf incoming for a very popular Titan exotic that has appeared more than a few times in Xur’s inventory....

Outside of new game mechanics, Bungie also revealed that it has made numerous changes and enhancements behind the scenes. Along with content being retired into the Destiny Content Vault, Bungie has also managed to better streamline and removing unused/cut content from the game. All in all, these changes are going to reduce the overall file size of the game by 30-40%, allow the company to push content faster, as well as better allow the studio to react to feedback from previous seasons....

With Season of the Haunted’s update, Bungie decided to take a look at some of the weapons that were performing too well in PvE, among which was Arbalest. This Kinetic linear fusion rifle has been dominating the endgame meta for a while now because it one-shots all elemental shields and Barrier Champions’ shields, with Arbalest’s catalyst also refilling the magazine whenever a shield is broken by the gun. Thus, Bungie nerfed the damage output of Arbalest against Destiny 2’s Champions so that it wouldn’t be too strong of a counter against them....

The images depict art of Beyond Light including two new shots of what appears to be a Fireteam looking up at a fully healed traveler as well as the old Tower location. Overall, the new Clan XP system will be very familiar to those who played Destiny 2 at launch, as XP will once again unlock through any activity. Clan Bounties as players currently know them will be retired at the end of Season of the Forge, and will be replaced by a new Clan Bounty system that rewards players who play with clanmates. There will be three weekly bounties for players to take down for legendary gear and a ton of Clan XP....

During the reveal livestream on June 6th - in which Bungie revealed the Shadowkeep expansion, the free-to-play Destiny 2: New Light, and explained its goals for Destiny 2 in the future - Destiny Game Director Luke Smith was asked when Trials would return to the game. Duality is a recent addition to the library of exotics and offers interesting effects. As a shotgun, it is useful in Crucible and for dropping enemies quickly without much hassle. Unlike most in this category, Duality has two types of ammo it can fire. If shot from the hip it unleashes a spread of pellets, and if fired while aiming it unloads a high power slug. The versatile nature of the shotgun makes it a piece Guardians will want to collect....
