In an interview published this week, Destiny 2 project lead Mark Noseworthy revealed that the PC version of the game has “no recoil.” Noseworthy explained that “With a mouse and keyboard, you don’t want the mouse moving without you moving it” as that doesn’t feel good. The developer also noted that “recoil on the controller feels really good” as result of “magnetism and all the magic in the controller that makes you feel it” but Destiny 2 PC players hoping to use keyboard and mouse to play the game were unhappy....

Writing in a Director’s Cut post on Bungie’s website, Smith says that the studio will be looking at implementing power caps on how high players’ legendary weapons can be infused in Year 4, a limitation that thus far hasn’t existed in Destiny 2 but was functionally present in the original game. Bungie will aim to keep weapons viable for endgame use for a period of 9 to 15 months....

The new Golden Sevens bundle lives up to its name by giving Destiny 2 players access to seven bright engrams, seven shaders, 500 Bright Dust, and a new ship called Nothing Gold. The bundle is likely to cause a bit of controversy, however, because it must be bought with Silver, Destiny 2’s premium currency purchased with real money. In this case, the bundle is valued at 2000 Silver, or roughly $20....

The community received no patch notes within the official 6.2.0.3 hotfix. However, minutes later, Bungie came forward on Twitter, via their @bungiehelp account, to confirm the change. Loreley Splendor Helm amplifies the restoration granted by the class’ Solar subclass, helping Titans survive major endgame activities. The latest nerf involves reduced restoration after being critically wounded while having the Exotic equipped. However, the change isn’t reported to be drastic since the restoration gained from Loreley was already broken, to begin with....

To put into perspective just how difficult a feat like this is, the Pit of Heresy suggests that players be at 940 light before plunging its depths. This is the same level suggested by the Garden of Salvation activity, the latest raid to go live in Destiny 2. Events like this are normally tackled with a three-man fireteam, and if not, they’re at least tackled with guns. But these norms are an insult to Gladd’s gaming prowess, so he handicapped himself instead....

For starters, there will be plenty of changes to weapon archetypes and Exotics in Destiny 2 next week, with popular weapons of the past returning to their former glory, such as Whisper of the Worm. A big focus for Bungie with the sandbox changes is to make character customization and builds more important in Destiny 2, moving forward, and to achieve this, the developer had to change how the game works at its very core....

Because Destiny 2 expands on the story of the first installment in Bungie’s series, many characters are fully fleshed-out thanks to over seven years of the developer building them up. Great examples include the beloved Cayde-6, whose story arc ended over three years ago with the launch of Forsaken. Another fan-favorite character is now Crow who started his journey as Uldren Sov, Awoken prince and brother to Mara Sov, only to be killed and then resurrected by his Ghost, thus losing his memories and becoming a new person entirely....

Hunters have dominated the first day of the 2021 Guardian Games in Destiny 2 but changes made by Bungie since last year should prevent them from dominating the competition. The losing class of the day gets a permanent point boost for the rest of the event to even the odds, so Titans will still be in with a chance of defending their champion title from last year. Former Eververse vendor Eva Levante will ask players to “bake” some holiday treats for members of the Tower, but first players must find the ingredients for each recipe. Some are a little obvious based on their name, while others are not. In most of the bounties, there are three ingredients necessary for completing a Dawning recipe. The first ingredient is tied to kills of a specific enemy race in Destiny 2....

This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur on the destination Io. Look for him in the Giant’s Scar section of the map, tucked inside a cave towards the bottom left after entering the large open area. Xur’s exotic armor inventory for this week includes the Raiden Flux chest piece for Hunters, the Synthoceps gauntlets for Titans, and the Karnstein Armlets gauntlets for Warlocks. These three items should be relatively familiar to regulars of Xur since they are not from the new Curse of Osiris inventory....

While the Flashpoint for this week is currently set on the paid DLC planet of Mercury, Xur has set up shop in the Tower once again so all Destiny 2 players can access his wares. Fortunately, he always heads to the same spot, so players should head to the left side of The Tower after loading in, run down into the Hanger and head left past the Dead Orbit crew....

Rumors about a possible Halo crossover event for Destiny 2’s 30th Anniversary Pack have been circulating for a long time, and they became even more real when Bungie revealed the armor sets coming as universal ornaments for all three classes. With a Needler shoulder pad on the Titan and an Arbiter-inspired look for the Warlock, who also gets a cool Halo ring bond, there was hope that Bungie would actually pull this off on a larger scale....

The list of Year 2 catalysts comes via user Eander on Reddit, a developer on the Destiny 2 database site light.gg. While these catalysts do exist within the game’s database, even Eander says that the stats attached to nine of them specifically are “super classified” and these stat boosts should be “taken with a grain of salt.” These nine Destiny 2 Year 2 exotics with stat information listed within the database are:...

Since Bungie is still trying to work all of the kinks out of Destiny 2: Forsaken’s main content, the studio hasn’t shed much light on what Black Armory will include. However, a recent leak claims that the add-on could include some fan-favorite exotics. According to two separate leaks (since removed from Reddit), the Black Armory DLC will feature the return of the Last Word exotic hand cannon, the Icebreaker exotic sniper rifle, and the Thunderlord exotic heavy machine gun....

The free 30th Anniversary event is kicking off in December 2021 to bring the calendar year to a close and begin the home stretch of Season of the Lost. The centerpiece of the free event will be the Nine-themed Dares of Eternity, a new six-player matchmade activity where players can earn loot celebrating Bungie’s previous games and 30-year history. Averting a growing controversy, Bungie went out of its way to confirm that the PS4 was included in Bungie’s plans to implement cross-saves between supported platforms. The confirmation between Sony and Bungie was, quite literally, made at the last minute. Kotaku reports that Bungie met with Sony in a last-minute push to get the PS4 manufacturer onboard yesterday, June 5, and it worked. Sony agreed to support cross-saves on PS4....

One of the main goals for Faction Rally that Bungie wants to deliver in Season 3 of Destiny 2 is to make pledging a difficult and meaningful choice. As a result, faction pledges will be per account, so players will no longer be able to pledge to a different faction on each of their three characters. Reputation will also now last the whole season, which makes sense given leaked information about how Faction Rally rewards are changing....
