While the new stasis subclasses in Beyond Light look to be filling that role, a new discovery by a Destiny 2 player suggests there might be more mechanics in the works. The mechanic does have roots in current Destiny mechanics but it could also expand the gameplay in some interesting ways. The Witch Queen is the latest major expansion for Destiny 2, pitting guardians against the Hive god of cunning, Savathun. Players will be tasked with venturing into Savathun’s throne world to combat her, discover how she came into possession of the light, and take it back. However, standing in players’ way is Savathun’s Lucent Brood, an army of light-imbued Hive wielding powers akin to those guardians have. In a post on Reddit, user u/retrorampage37 noticed that an image on the Destiny 2 Eververse storefront pictured a Hunter with their leg clipping into their body, musing “why are you (Bungie) creating these unrealistic beauty standards for us hunters to live up to?” The image in question is for the Optimacy Set, an armor set from Year 1, and the kneeling Hunter on the right of the image is definitely putting it to interesting use, as the character model seems to be leaning into their own leg....

In a post on light.gg (a popular Destiny fan site that tracks player leaderboards and houses a robust database, among other things), the site’s creator “afpac” explains that after the player in question hit the top of the Triumphs leaderboard by unlocking all the available Triumphs, fans across the community started looking into the specifics of the player’s account. In doing so, the community found that this particular player’s baseline stats while playing Quickplay in PvP stood in stark contrast to the stats that appeared in the Competitive playlist....

While the plan initially excited players about the possibilities, it seems that most players have started to tire of this format resulting in countless posts for change on sites like Reddit. With much of each season’s content going away after a three month cycle, many players have begun to feel turned off by the experience due to a feeling of missing out. This aggressive feeling of Destiny 2 FOMO ultimately seems to have had the opposite effect, pushing players to log in every day or else risk missing out on something by running out of time....

After players finish the story in Destiny 2, they almost always want more. Bungie’s job is to deliver not just more, but more that’s actually worth players investing their time. It’s become a cliche that a game truly begins when players reach end-game, but there’s obviously some truth to it. Bungie’s goal is to retain players after they finish Destiny 2’s campaign - to keep them busy until the next expansion but also to make the game actually worth playing until the next expansion....

Adept weapons have also been in the spotlight recently as well. Fans have been asking Bungie to take two unique perks Celerity and Bottomless Grief and make them intrinsic level perks on Trials of Osiris and Nightfall specific weapons or even the Adept versions. In response to this request, Weapons Feature Lead Chris Proctor indicated that the ultimate idea behind Adept weapons was to give players tangible rewards to work towards, a minor power boost, and to make sure that players who can’t earn the weapons don’t feel like they can’t compete with those that do have them....

Unfortunately, super generating class armor like Shards of Galanor, Ursa Furiosa, and Phoenix Protocol are also getting reworked. With these adjustments, Bungie intends to prevent players from earning full supers back immediately after using them. Naturally, the community has not taken well to the news, with many asking why Bungie feels the need to nerf fun things and make players feel less powerful. With Bungie pushing players to try some of the lesser known or used exotics, Xur has arrived just in time in Destiny 2 with an all new inventory for players to look at....

In addition to more Beyond Light revelations, current Destiny 2 players finally got access to the second part of the Exodus quest line. As expected, players were sent back to Asher Mir, Deputy Commander Sloane, Brother Vance, and Ana Bray at their respective locations to take part in activities located there. Not only providing a nice nostalgic experience for players before each location is retired, finishing the quest also led to the new exotic sidearm, Traveler’s Chosen....

First and foremost, high level enemies are getting a buff to make them deadlier. Fans of vanilla Destiny will remember stumbling upon high level enemies accidentally who were immune to all incoming damage. That feature is coming to Destiny 2, as enemies that are 50 power levels higher than the player will be immune to incoming damage, and will likely decimate the player as their damage will scale with their power level....

During the Armor 2.0 stream, Bungie revealed that weapon loader mods (like Hand Cannon loader or Sidearm Loader) would be locked to specific elements. So if players wanted Hand Cannon Loader they would need to get the Void version of that armor piece. Fans have been speculating that the Hive would be the main enemy of the second raid lair, just as the Vex were the main enemy in the Curse of Osiris raid lair, but it seems that isn’t the case. The datamine contains a slew of audio files, ranging from story audio to the new raid lair. It looks like the upcoming raid lair is reintroducing everybody’s favorite clapping Cabal, Emperor Calus....

The Mod System started in Destiny 2 so Raid mods for Vault of Glass are a fresh addition to this raid. Guardians may be curious what these upcoming Raid mods will do and which to look out for. JpDeathBlade on Twitter, creator of TodayInDestiny, shared the 11 Vault of Glass Raid mods for players to check out. Breaking down each of the mods, JpDeathBlade speculates there are most likely obtained through the hidden chests throughout the raid....

In today’s This Week at Bungie weekly blog post, Bungie outlined that the new Destiny 2 Hunter Exotic boots, Star-Eater Scales, will be disabled for the first 24 hours of the Vault of Glass being live. This is because there was an issue identified where some abilities were being granted a bit more damage than intended. Bungie did not detail what abilities were dealing more damage than intended and with the many ways that Star-Eater Scales stack with different things, it’s unclear which abilities are being affected....

An example comes from the most recent glitch that is causing Destiny 2 players to be banned over alt-tabbing in and out of the game, and the core bug is something Bungie has been aware of for a few months now. The issue has now spread through a recent video showcasing it, and it is wreaking havoc among the community, with people being banned from PvP activities for two weeks upon getting the Rutabaga error code....

According to a recent blog post from Bungie, come February 20, 2018 at 9:00 AM PST, another Faction Rally will be available within Destiny 2, and this time around, players will be able to take on Lost Sectors with no timers to hold them back. As far as the fresh weaponry being added to the packages for the event are concerned, players can get a gander at the new guns that will be in the reward pool with the images below....
