The Trials Lab for the weekend of October 22, however, feels less like a refreshing twist on the Trials of Osiris and more like a feature that should be permanent. Since the reworks to the game mode, players in the Trials of Osiris have been asking for a solo-queue or Freelance option. The feature has already been present in Destiny 2 for some time, with options available in the Iron Banner game mode as well as the Glory, or competitive, Survival mode in the Crucible playlist....

Last week, we compared the look of the final boss, Damkath, to Golgoroth from Destiny 1’s King’s Fall raid; however, Naksud is practically a carbon copy. But Naksud has its own mechanic. When the boss wave begins, focus on clearing out the adds (including the Shriekers that spawn above the Incursion Site) while avoiding Naksud’s Void beam....

The beginning of Season of Dawn, which began December 10, introduced the Sundial activity to Destiny 2, two of its associated obelisks, solar subclass changes, the Elimination PvP playlist, and returning PvP map Rusted Lands. The next week opened up the story mission for the season featuring Saint-14, a new Sundial boss, and the unlocking of the other two obelisks. Another Sundial boss showed up later in December along with the Dawning and Iron Banner....

Over on Bungie.net, the studio revealed the details of when players will be able to dive into the Raid. While the Raid’s name hasn’t been announced yet, likely to avoid any potential story spoilers for The Witch Queen, Bungie did reveal that Destiny 2: The Witch Queen’s Raid will become available on March 5, 2022, at 10 AM PST. That will give Destiny 2 players a few weeks to prepare for the end game content....

Along with the expansion reveal event, Season 15 is also rapidly approaching. With the story and name of the season still under wraps by Bungie, the studio has been very forthcoming about sandbox changes and some of the new content players will be seeing. The big reveal this week revolved around the refreshing of certain underused exotics, making gear like The Bombardiers, Precious Scars, The Stag, and others more viable....

Based on the Black Armor DLC roadmap that Bungie detailed late in 2018, it doesn’t appear that Xur will be receiving any significant changes until next season at the earliest. Not only is there mysterious content related to Xur and new bounties listed under the Season of the Drifter, but many players believe this is the point when Bungie will begin to integrate Forsaken exotics into his offerings. Even though it’s the new year, Xur is still up to his usual tricks....

Naturally, what would a Destiny 2 event be without new weapons and items to pursue. During the Guardian Games, players can get their hands on the legendary SMG called The Title. The weapon initially had a bug preventing it from dropping normally, but Bungie was quick to patch the issue and The Title can now drop or be rewarded through numerous ways. In addition, players can pick up the Heir Apparent exotic machine gun if they missed out in previous years, and the catalyst is also available as well....

Unfortunately for some fans, the evolving world means a more nuanced and slip drip of content to last throughout the season. There’s been a bit of discontent from the community over the Shadowkeep campaign which left many feeling like it was overly short and didn’t resolve anything in particular. It’s likely that the narrative thread will continue to be woven throughout this season and possibly in future seasons, keeping with Bungie’s evolving world mantra....

Every time that Destiny 2 players visit Variks, they can pick up a total of 5 of his randomized bounties. But while the Fallen NPC’s daily bounties can sometimes be quite involved, his repeatable bounties are fairly easy to complete. Most of them involve getting kills with specific weapons, ammo types, or abilities. Bungie mentions that “The Witch Queen expansion represents an important evolution in the ongoing story of Destiny 2.” Bungie further talked about the impact that The Witch Queen will have on the narrative in Lightfall and beyond. This confirms that Bungie still has plans for Destiny 2 after Lightfall. In the latest “This Week at Bungie” blog post, Destiny 2 sandbox design lead Josh Hamrick detailed some of the projects that the sandbox team is tackling currently, and provided an update on some upcoming changes that will make it to the game in the coming months. According to Hamrick, the upcoming Mod system rework will give players more ability uptime and overall increased power output. The intention is to increase player power and reduce the amount of redundant or useless mods that plague player inventories....

According to Bungie, Guardians will be able to take on Destiny 2’s Eater of Worlds raid lair beginning on Friday, December 8, at 10:00 AM PT, provided that they have already purchased the Curse of Osiris DLC. Naturally, one’s mind tends to turn toward loot when thinking about the adventure ahead, and the fine folks at PC Gamer have already snagged shots of the raid lair’s ornamented armor at the raid vendor–all of which can be found in the images below....

Although atrociously frightening in their adult forms, the Destiny 2 community has gone wild over the looter shooter’s equivalent to Baby Yoda. Initially revealed in the Season of the Splicer update, the internet has fully embraced the baby Fallen as its popularity continues to grow through incredible amounts of fan art and memes. But now, players can have their very own miniature, fluffy Fallen Baby at their side in real life....

One of those aspects that many fans and critics felt missed the mark in the original release is in the story department. In what is all but confirmed, Destiny’s story was gutted and rewritten in the game’s last year of development, which led to a disconnected and jumbled mess of characters, story missions, and lore for fans to try to piece together. It was a far cry from the “epic, cinematic story” that adorned the back of the game’s box....

Bungie had already promised a significant update to the player armory back when Destiny 2: Lightfall was first announced in 2022 during its annual showcase. Throughout the history of Destiny, every major release and content update has seen the introduction of new exotic weapons and armor. Oftentimes, these exotics are thematically associated with the expansion or season of release. And each one of these exotic weapons and armor is based on an in-game mechanic or functionality, which either alters a build or even creates new build archetypes....

On Twitter, Bungie revealed that multiple players are getting stuck with “Baboon” error prompts, which is typically caused by packet loss between the player’s game and Destiny 2’s servers. In the replies to Bungie’s tweets, Destiny 2 players have been a mix of supportive and frustrated, some acknowledging that issues are bound to happen, while others expressed disappointment over activities lagging. The Destiny 2 Leviathan’s Breath exotic bow quest is set to go live on October 22, and with a main perk that staggers unshielded foes and makes the weapon strong against Unstoppable Champions, the bow looks to pack quite a punch. While players that are familiar with the Destiny 2 Shadowkeep roadmap will not be surprised by the addition of this exotic bow, they may still be curious about the specifics of quest that must be completed in order to obtain it, and those specifics are now available....

The latest comes from creator Solar Flair who managed to put together a video showcasing the environmental work that most people simply run past in Destiny 2 without giving it much attention. In this instance, Solar Flair frames the cinematic in the style of National Geographic, going around to each of the base locations available in the game and showing off many of the little things like flora, fauna, trees, buildings, and other environmental features....

In its weekly blog post, Bungie revealed a handful of changes that will be coming to Destiny 2 in Season 6. Weapons like linear fusion rifles and exotics like One Eyed Mask will be getting much-needed nerfs, but the most surprising change is to the full auto shotgun archetype. After the update, full auto shotguns will see their rate of fire bonus decrease from +100% to +10%. However, the new fire rate will no longer increase shotgun pellet spread, so players should have an easier time hitting their target while holding down the fire button....

While Bungie did not explain how it plans to boost rewards in Destiny 2, there were a few activities that it singled out as needing a buff. Prestige activities are one set of endgame experience that most Destiny 2 players would agree are lacking in the rewards department, from the Leviathan Raid to the Nightfall Strike. Yes, each offers the opportunity for endgame loot, but the effort required to complete these difficult encounters is not equal to the reward....
