Moving a bit quicker than Bungie would have liked is the Australian PlayStation Store which posted a new Destiny 2 bundle online about a day earlier than expected. The accompanying image showed a few things that had never been previously revealed including the upcoming name which is Season of Arrivals. The bundle’s main draw is the fact that it comes with 1,000 silver and a bonus extra of 700, giving players a grand total of 1,700 silver to use at the Eververse microtransaction store....

Weapons of note that will still be available next season are the Faction Rally weapons reintroduced this season and Truthteller and Nature of the Beast, both of which will be getting random rolls for the first time. Any weapons listed below will not be earnable this summer and beyond in Destiny 2. They will be “sunset” at the beginning of this fall and Bungie emphasized that any sunset weapon will not be part of the season 11 loot pool....

Instead, another big bad evil guy appeared almost out of thin air, shrouded in darkness and spewing smoke. Just as Season of the Risen kicked off, many Destiny 2 players saw the Witness for the first time, and it has quickly become Destiny 2’s most enigmatic and terrifying figure. In the greater story of Destiny 2, it seems that the Witness may be responsible for every action in the name of Darkness that players have encountered so far....

For all of the good, this week also experienced plenty of bad. Following the update, Destiny 2 struggled with the surge of players, resulting in a slew of errors and server related problems which significantly limited the amount of players who were able to experience the new content. Thankfully, Bungie was able to eventually wrangle up the problems a few hours later, and after a slight headache, the community is once again in the game....

It also didn’t help that Xur’s inventory from last week included two items that were offered the previous week, adding another layer of disappointment. This occurred on top of the realization that the merchant won’t be carrying new Year 2 exotics for a period of time. Thankfully, that pattern doesn’t repeat for this week and better yet, the merchant once again has the Fated Engram for sale. Here’s a rundown on where to find Xur, as well as what he’s offering from September 14 until he departs before Destiny 2’s weekly reset next week....

The Reckoning is one of the two new activities introduced in the Season of the Drifter, and it features unique and powerful weapons for players to earn. Some players have spent a lot of time trying to farm the Spare Rations Hand Cannon that is one of the best weapons from The Reckoning. Thankfully, after the 2.2.1 update, all the Reckoning weapons will be much easier to come across if players sink a good amount of time into the game....

High atop Felwinter Peak, across from the Iron Temple, lies the Vostok Observatory. It’s here that players will do battle in Destiny 2’s Crucible, a layered reminder of the past. Bungie Environment Artist Jeff Horal gives a guided tour of Vostok in the latest IGN exclusive Destiny 2 video, the first time players will get a look at the snowy map. The preview is accompanied by two new 5-minute gameplay videos featuring Destiny 2’s Titan Striker subclass and the Warlock Dawnblade subclass....

In a recent interview, Destiny 2 Project Lead Mark Noseworthy spoke a bit more about the weapon changes, confirming that players could essentially equip two identical weapon types, such as hand cannons, in each slot if they wanted. Noseworthy then let slip that the studio may even have added some interesting interactions between certain weapons types as well. Unfortunately, before more details could be extracted, the conversation quickly shifted to power weapons, leaving the community to speculate....

Timmins describes crunch time as when a developer is spending more than 50 hours a week working, noting that it’s often much worse than that. But crunch goes beyond what many might expect, according to Timmins. A studio forcing its employees to work overtime to meet deadlines is only a part of crunch, though a particularly unhealthy part. The other side of crunch being employees who do so willingly out of excitement and investment in a project....

After completing the first combat portion of Dares of Eternity, players must make a jump from a boosted platform through a section of cutouts. Should they pass through, they’ll have a significantly easier time running through the first obstacle course. As such, in their search for a hard challenge, a Destiny 2 player decided to initiate a Nuzlocke run to test their skills and ultimately reach the goal of completing a Grandmaster Nightfall. The player shared a post on Reddit under the name of Rete12123 in which they stated the rules of their Nuzlocke challenge, which will end in a permadeath if the player’s character dies at any point, for any reason....

This DLC celebrated the 30 years since Bungie’s foundation, and it did so by including plenty of Destiny 2 loot inspired by the developer’s past - such as Halo-themed weapons. The 30th Anniversary Pack also marked the return of the popular Destiny Exotic rocket launcher called Gjallarhorn, which immediately became a fan-favorite weapon because of its sheer power and its ability to buff allies’ rocket launchers as well. Another hit from the 30th Anniversary Pack is Dares of Eternity and, particularly, the cosmic horse NPC it brought along: Starhorse....

According to the diligent detective work of the Redditor known as Accelerwraith that can be found in the fine print in the second image further below, the Pop-Tart codes for Destiny 2 offers a free 25% XP boost for four hours total with every box of the confectionery treats purchased. As one might expect, however, terms and conditions apply. The deal only works in the US, with one needing to text “D2XP” to “89332” or email “D2XP” to D2XP@KFR....

This was seen as an overall nerf to Hunters with the Void 3.0 changes, and while that is true, the cloak-wearing class also got a rather powerful buff to Moebius Quiver, which also makes it quicker to cast. In fact, Destiny 2’s previous iteration of Moebius Quiver allowed Hunters to shoot six separate arrows and move while midair, which meant that the Super would only be effective when hitting all six shots, and it also took a long time to use....

Unlike the first encounter, Warpriest is a more traditional boss encounter that serves as a very difficult and unforgiving DPS (damage per second) check. Though this encounter is significantly more difficult than the first one, players will not need to worry about Champions this time around. One of the bigger changes for this season, however, is with Xur, as Bungie works to make him more relevant again. As players will find out starting today, the exotic merchant finally received that long-awaited update most players were looking for and will now be offering Forsaken exotics from time to time. Next week, Xur will have the first Invitations of the Nine mission for players to undertake, making his weekend visits even more important than they used to be....

In the meantime, Bungie has been more than happy to share gameplay and sandbox related changes including an Iron Banner vendor refresh, various weapon balancing, and even a brand new mechanic being added called Airborne Effectiveness. In fact, Bungie also confirmed that Xur will no longer be forced into overtime by being held hostage by players through the Tuesday reset, something that has become pretty popular this season in Destiny 2....

After the weekly reset arrived this past Tuesday for Destiny 2, players began reporting a clan related issue where the Nightfall engram wasn’t unlocking after The Garden World Nightfall strike was cleared. Digging into the issue, Bungie discovered a bug and decided to switch out the Nightfall strike for this week to mitigate the issue for players. In order to unlock the related clan reward for this week, players will need to finish the Nightfall again, this time set on The Inverted Spire....

The Cerberus +1 exotic auto rifle was initially revealed earlier this week with only a couple of hints as to how it would actually work in the game. Specifically mentioned was the idea that it functions in a manner similar to Contra’s infamous Spread Gun. What that actually meant was going to have to wait until later in the month. However, it seems “later” didn’t mean all that long of a wait....
